Their story

Omkar Prasad Rai has been farming in Thanwari, Seoni, since 2004. A postgraduate in Geography, with a focus on agriculture, health and economics, he brings both study and field experience to his land. He committed fully to farming in 2015 and moved to organic farming in 2017.

From 2022 to 2025, he worked with SOUL Society. Today he grows native wheats, Bansi Gold and Khapli, across 15 acres of his own land and 35 acres under contract farming. Next, he plans to grow native moong and more native wheat.

He also processes his grain himself, using slow, low-RPM milling to make wheat flour, broken wheat (daliya), semolina, maida and wheat bran.

His dream is simple: an independent gaushala with happy cows, and happy, independent farmers growing food the traditional Vedic way.
